DIY Prism Light Ornaments

How gorgeous is this prism, "light," ornament? Well, you can create your own for $3.00 using two items from the Dollar Tree.

These large plastic clear ornaments were purchased from Wal-Mart for less than S1.00 but they're also available at your local Dollar Tree.

I also purchased (2) Bags of Clear Glass rocks from the Dollar Tree.

You want to start by removing the ornaments top/hook and gluing it in place. The ornament will be heavy once its complete so you need to glue the hook into place. I used a hot glue gun but you can also use Super Glue or E600 glue. I prefer a hot glue gun since these ornaments wont be touched much and Super Glue/ E600 glue takes forever to dry. Also, those fumes are horrid!

I started to glue the glass gems at the very top of the ornament.

Continue to glue them all round the ornament.

Once its complete; glue over the top of the hook once again with a thin layer of hot glue. The hot glue is clear so no one will be able to see it.

Hang it on your tree and enjoy the beautiful. I stuck mine right in front of a few lights. I love the way it reflects all around. The ornament itself looks beautiful even when your Christmas lights are off.

TIPS:
Glue the top/hook to the ornament!
Two bags are necessary. It will take about 1.5 bags to complete one large ornament.
Super Glue does not dry clear. So, a few white spots may show through the clear glass gems if you use super glue.
